Summer Vacation / Kidlet’s B-day

Monday night we had a brownie cake for Kidlet over at SBH & Kdawg’s house and yesterday I took Kidlet to a local museum for her 11th birthday. We had fun there for hours and also hit up the park next door that even has a mini spray park. She went home with my Mom since I had to work lastnight and today Mom’s boyfriend dropped her off this morning.

We took the bus down to the main public library and got here at oh 10am. It is now after 1:30 and we are still here. Kidlet got some books & surfed the net on her ipod, I’ve been surfing the net and working on getting my collective up & running.

Happy Birthday Kidlet

Wow, today you are 11 years old .. where has the time gone? Wasn’t it just yesterday you were learning to talk *sigh*. The past year has kind of been a crazy one with us moving & all of your after school stuff. So I will highlight some of the past year.

* Had a HUGE birthday party luau.
* Moved into our first apartment.
* Got your amazing real wood clarinet for Christmas.
* Started to read the Twilight series.
* Got your first slider cellphone.
* Broke your first slider cellphone.
* Made a kick ass birthday card for Uncle Giant (SBD)
* Enjoyed a baseball game with your class.
* The 5th grade.

I know there is more but those are the first ones that stand out. Just remember this year (Which I shall dub the year of the PMS) when your crazy hormonal that I love you … it might seem like I’m a crazy wicked bitch but, I’m really not.

Fried Chicken with Cream Gravy

Ingredients:

* 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
* milk
* shortening or oil for frying
* .
* Cream Gravy
* 3 tablespoons drippings from frying chicken
* 3 tablespoons flour
* 2 1/2 cups milk
* 1/2 cup cream
* salt and pepper

Preparation:
Pour all drippings from skillet into a small bowl; measure and return 3 tablespoons to the skillet and place over medium heat. Stir in flour until well blended, scraping up brown bits from bottom of skillet. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until bubbly. Gradually add milk and cream; boil until thickened and creamy, stirring constantly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with the chicken, along with a side vegetable and rice, fries, or potatoes.
